Story of the Pizza
It was in
1780 that the first modern Italian pizza was made, the Margherita pizza (bread,
tomatoes, cheese), made by Raffaele Esposito in honour of Queen Margherita, who
greatly appreciated her pizzas.
Pizza is a
traditional recipe of Italian cuisine, originating in Naples, Italy (Neapolitan
cuisine) made with bread dough cake, topped with various mixtures of
ingredients (tomato sauce, dried tomatoes, vegetables, cheese, cold cuts,
olives, olive oil...) and baked in the oven.
Similarly,
we make round and not square pizzas because it is much more practical and
simple for the pizzaiolo.... The square box can make it possible to be aware of
the dimensions of the pizza. The advantage is that the square box highlights the
pizza, which gives the pizza a volume effect.
Much better
than the other cheeses tested, namely provolone, Italian too, Dutch Edam,
English Cheddar, American Colby or Gruyère and Emmental cheese from
Switzerland. Mozzarella, traditionally made from buffalo milk, is even the
absolute must to compose a pizza
Which flour
to use to make a successful pizza dough? choose a soft wheat flour (T45) that
is rich in gluten and can withstand long emergence times. Look carefully at the
flour packages, the indication T45 is generally indicated on the sides of the
package. In Italy, "manitoba" flour is used
Although it
is a specialty of Italian origin, it is not the Italians who consume the most.
The Americans won this award, but the French were on their heels. In France, we
consumed 819 million pizzas in 2015 alone, 10 million more than in 2014.
